Drawing, 2015

Since January 1st 2015 I committed myself to draw one globe per day. Each drawing is based on existing real globes that I found on the internet or books, but I drew each globe blank, suggesting an unexplored or post-apocalyptic world. The work was completed on December 31st 2015.

One of the globes (102/365) was exhibited as part of The Whole Wide World exhibition at The International 3, Manchester, in April 2015. As part of this exhibition, The International 3 produced a special limited edition of the 306th Globe, The Leap One. This is the corresponding globe of the 29th of February, only to be exhibited on leap years.

Each drawing is pencil on paper, A5 (15 x 21 cm). The globe itself is always the same size and placed in the same spot on the paper. I shared them daily on Instagram and Twitter (@dartzee).

Below a small selection of globes.
