Animation, 2007
This animation has been painstakingly hand drawn to recreate static interferences in the television receptor (EMI, Electro Magnetic Interference). A lack of signal or interference, a fault in reception resulting in a mass of flickering white spots in the screen; the monitor image is a combined phenomenon between a natural event (interferences, the signal) and a human devise created to interpret it (the television, the decoder). I seek to place questions about re-codification and representation of this mechanic image through drawing. I am interested in reflecting on the relationship between man, technology and nature.
