Call for video work. Deadline 20th March

Call for video works that engage or question the meaning of home, elsewhere and all the distances in-between. This screening seeks to showcase a varied selection of other artists’ interpretations of the elusive character of the domestic and the unknown. Under the title ‘Ever Remote’ and curated by Hondartza Fraga, the screening will take place at South Square Gallery in Bradford on the 6th of May 2011.

Videos will have to be no longer than 10 minutes.

To be considered please email a link to the video online and a brief CV/statement about the work. Alternatively, you can send a DVD (please contact me to request address).

Light Night 2010, Leeds

I will have a few works screened as part of Light Night 2010, in Leeds on Friday 8th October.
Soup & Cinema at PSL [Project Space Leeds]. Screenings at 7pm, 7.45pm, 8.30pm and 9.15pm.
Melange: a programme of artist interventions curated by Leeds Met Gallery & Studio Theatre and presented in Harvey Nichols as part of Light Night between 7-10pm on Friday 8 October.

Bearing Elsewhere is the first solo UK exhibition of new works by Hondartza Fraga. Drawing and video are the chosen mediums to ponder about the notion of journey, both geographical and mental, as a place in itself. Taking the position of a traveller who observes the world from the safe distance of an endless wandering, neither here nor there. This new work seeks to confront the fictional and elusive character of home and the exotic.

‘Drawn’ at Clock Tower Gallery

Group exhibition that celebrates and explores the medium of drawing. Features works from 22 artists.
