Hondartza Fraga: The Sea Full Stop
25 September 2015 – Autumn 2016
Manchester Art Gallery

I am delighted to announce that from this Thursday and until autumn 2016, a selection of my works will be on display at the Manchester Art Gallery. The works respond to their collection of Dutch seascapes.

I have made a new animation piece in direct response to this collection. Using three selected seascapes I have created a new work that focus the attention on the sea, in contrast to the original Dutch paintings who emphasise the human activity on the ocean.

There is an opening preview on Thursday 24th to coincide another two exhibition openings that same evening: Pat Flynn and Matthew Derbyshire.

This year I am again featured in The Manchester Contemporary art fair, and you will find my work at The International 3 booth.

Many thanks to The International 3, Manchester Art Gallery and special thanks go to Karen and Ian Allison for lending the drawing ‘And It Turned Me To Admire The Magnanimity Of The Sea Which Will Permit No Records’ to the Art Gallery for this display.
