Join us to celebrate the launch of Truth and Fantasy: Contemporary artists drawing at Craven Museum & Gallery, Skipton

Truth and Fantasy brings together artists from across the UK who draw in highly skilled and imaginative ways, from pencil on paper to objects and animation. Their art responds to the real, and at the same time, reveals a spirit of enquiry and imagination, an uncovering of memories and the unconscious, where other worlds become visible.

The exhibition in Skipton will also include a selection of art works from The Roebuck Collection. Acquired by local art collector Clement Roebuck during the 20th century and bequeathed to the town of Skipton, the collection contains 145 paintings, watercolours, prints, drawings and sculpture, ranging from the 1700’s to 1970’s.

Truth and Fantasy artists:
Paul Chiappe, Dennis Creffield, Penny Davenport, Hondartza Fraga and Simon Woolham

Truth and Fantasy will be open at Craven Museum & Gallery until 24 March before continuing on tour to North Bridlington Library, Chorley Library and Selby Library.

Throughout the exhibition there will be opportunities to take part in drawing activity, beginning with workshops with Simon Woolham on Saturday 10th and Monday 12th February.
