Shell-ters

Oyster shells are transformed into tiny islands. Pencil drawings on paper that have been carefully hand-cut and fixed onto the shell’s surface creating miniature scenes that feature dwellings and people engaged in sea-shore activities. The drawings are loosely based on found photographs and the histories of real islands, inspired by Judith Schalansky’s Atlas of Remote Islands (2010).
