Miramientos at Espacio Alexandra
I’m pleased to announce my upcoming exhibition Miramientos in Spain.
The exhibition brings together a selection of recent works that explore the act of looking as a form of attention, care, and speculation. Across drawing, moving image, and object-based works, the show considers how perception is shaped by distance, scale, mediation, and imagination.
Works include a series of small-scale pencil drawings that reproduce fragments of the Martian surface at 1:1 scale; new drawings encapsulated beneath glass domes that evoke both planetary observation and the anatomy of the eye; an animated work inspired by early astronomical depictions of Saturn; and a group of works developed through an ongoing material investigation into Whitby jet.
Rather than presenting observation as neutral, Miramientos proposes looking as a situated and imperfect act — shaped by filters, projections, care, and excess. The exhibition invites an attentive form of encounter, where what is seen remains provisional, fragile, and open to interpretation.
